Depends on how bad the time would have been. Sometimes a suboptimal performance beats none at all, especially for those of us who do not have that much time to hobby because of work commitments. An hour isn't much time to rustle up a plan B.

+1. I think it's pretty cunty to cancel short notice. I hate when that happens. It usually ends up worse for me than if I had not scheduled. Trying to find plan B is less than 50/50, is likely a subpar experience, and I had to prep (manscape, find the time, etc) when I originally scheduled. The credit is a nice touch, but not something I'd prefer or take someone up on. Time is more valuable. Plus, I'm sure seeing you at less than optimal is still a really good experience.
