What Kind Of Fan Are You?

The NFL is about to strike.

Question is, what kind of fan are you? Are you the one that loves football, and will consume it whenever we get it back?

Or, are you the boycott fan. The one that will switch to college and high school football because of a moral high horse? Though knowing that whatever contribution you may have made, is minimal. And, in the eyes of the NFL, isn't worth squat.

Football is a product, will you buy it?

No, and haven't for years. It's a business. Do you watch accountants when they work? Of course, I might watch providers when they work. But that's beside the point. I gave up on football, college and pro, long ago. I will say this, when the Cowboys play it's much easier to get a tee time.

I like football. NFL raised it (imo) to an art form ... (for example, the NY Jets victory over the NE Pats shortly after getting a public spanking by the Pats a few weeks earlier, showed the value of personnel, coaching, and game planning) ... but the fact is... there will be NFL games with replacement players if need be, and I'll watch. I'll watch college, HS, and pick up games outside my house ... it's a great game.

Oh, yeah .. gonzo .. you see the lingerie league ... perfect for the hobby guy http://www.lflus.com/

Sorry for the disruption. I know a lot of people are really into this. Once again I'm glad that I've always found watching sports extremely boring. Hope it turns out alright for those of you who are into it.

For me, I've always liked watching college football - more fast paced and heart than NFL snobs. I watch NFL because it is on but manage to soak in everything about it.

Sure both college and pro are about money - college is behind the scenes whereas pro is right there in your face!

Me, I dislike college football because of the amount of fanatacism for teams that consistently lose. If your passion is about a team that you may or may not have graduated from 10-15 yrs ago, then perhaps you may be a little misdirected.

CanDo, not directed specifically at you, but at the people who live and die with every breath of the El Paso Miners.

I think we are further away from a lock out/work stoppage/whatever you want to call it that people think. The two sides are talking and have agreed to an extention to continue the talks.

A great point I heard last night; While there have been strikes/lockouts in the past at no point has any major pro sport done this at the peak of their success.

I think things will be resolved with the players in place. And yes, likely regardless of what happens, I will continue to be a pro football-ball fan.
Love the NFL. I was brainwashed growing up in the land of Green and Gold. I quite enjoyed my team wining XLV in my new home city!

The phrase "any given sunday" really does mean something in the NFL. I hate college football because upsets are few and far between. Also hate the lack of a playoff.

Also too many damn teams to follow

College > NFL

sorry folks but thats how it goes...once these players sign their contracts they could care less...College Football is the purest form of sport because they are untainted and putting forth max effort to attain the contracts
