Who has the best German Food in the metroplex? Once we have decided on the best place, I will set up another ECCIE Dinner Club Party at the Restaurant.

Haven't tried any of the German places in Dallas.... too many other great cuisines to try... although by doing a search for German restaurant's in Dallas this one looks interesting.. http://www.bavariangrill.com/

In Fort Worth I vote for Edelweiss German Restaurant.

One vote for each city!

This is Nicole's choice of cuisines to try for her next going away party!!!

I get lunch at Kuby's often and it is very authentic. Not sure the atmophere is what you are looking for.

Nicole - Have you been there?

Bavarian Grill ROCKS! great beer selection and the food is great. the owner Jurgen is from Berchtesgaden. i've been going there for over 15 years...

btw... Jurgen was maybe the last bar owner in the metroplex to embrace the whole cable tv thing. little ass tv behind the bar that only got the local channels. one day we were giving Jurgen a hard time about it and he said... 'there's nothing wrong with this tv. when i watch it... eisenhower is still the president'

Cookie Man, that is sooooo GAY!!!!! Maybe a demo with you and NP at the Bavarian Grill is in order. Better start practicing.
I'll second the recommendation of Bavarian Grill.

Fabulous place!

Never go north of Northwest Highway, so I can't talk about anything in Plano. But Kuby's is worth a stop, especially for lunch.

Finally....a nice drama free thread about food. I have been to Bav Grill and I loved it. They have some great appetizers and the beer selection is amazing. But I haven't been to Germany to know what "real" German food tastes like for a frame of reference.

I've been to The Bavarian Grill twice and I love it! Now, I'm no expert ( I've only been to Bavaria four times in the past two years), but it's pretty darn close to the real thing. The beer is about as authentic as you can find ( yes, I've done my share of research), and the sausages are wonderful as well. I noticed most of the staff is of German/Bavarian descent, so you know it's good!

I recommend we go when it's still cold outside...rich yummy food, Bier, and good friends.

Guten Appetit!

Yay! Glad this is posted!

Even though my SO is Puerto Rican, he was born in Germany and wants me to find a German Restaurant.

Guess I will have to check this food out in FTW.......Thanks!

Been to Bav Grill 6+ times, visitors to Plano always want me to take them back. Great selection of beers, nice patio for spring and fall, somebody singing ( I think maybe Friday and/ or Sat only?) and very friendly and knowledgeable wait staff.

Sits in a innocent looking strip mall but well worth the trip.
