Attending Mardi Gras has always been on my Bucket List. If I were to get a wild hair and hop in the car Sun. or Mon., can anyone offer me any useful advice as to a) where to stay, although I suspect everything is booked at this point, and b) the best parades to catch.
I suspect I'll get a lot of "you waited too long" replies, but thanks in advance for anything useful.

Well, you can jump in the car and drive... and hope for the best getting a hotel near NOLA. My suggestion would be for next year... plan a trip with you and your buddies (or solo if you prefer). Stay close to the quarter (the Holiday Inn on Royal was always cheap)... and enjoy yourself next year...
