I realize the month is 1/3 gone, but I am still going to spread the word.
March is Colon Cancer Awareness Month and this is a cause that's very personal to me. I had CC 5-1/2 years ago, at the age after 28. So, I know all of the excuses and embarrassing jokes that can come from getting a colonoscopy, but a real man doesn't run from cancer just because someone is going to stick a probe up his butt.
I strongly encourage anyone in the highest risk group (ages 50 and up) to get screened regularly.
For everyone else, don't ignore the warning signs your body gives off. "Toughing" it out is a load of B.S., listen to your body.
If you're interested in knowing more, visit http://www.ccalliance.org they have plenty of information for patients, relatives, or for those that want to get involved.
Thank you.
