French war planes flying over Lybia

French "Rafale" war planes are flying over Libya right now & appear to be engaged in the fight over Benghazi, in keeping with UN security council resolution 1973.

Barak Obama, after bowing to the leadership of Nancy Pelosi over health care, is bowing to the initiative of Nicolas Sarkosy over Libya.

The Republicans do not seem to have found a credible candidate to oppose him in in 2012, however.

Neither have the loose coalition of tribes that have rebelled against Ghadaffi offered a strong leader to replace him.

Maybe the French will annex Libya. Then pay the cost of war by selling oil to the USA.
what is that old american statement.... the french do not have a word for victory..

but I am impressed the french grew some balls and did something, must be money at stake, dont forget to sell that advanced helicopter carrier to the russians.
Ghadaffi it not worred about the French planes....they won't fight
Ghadaffi will be ruling France in 3 weeks.

Strange times.
I would vote Sarkozi over Obama.....Napoleon was not an American and he was one of the best war tacticians. France has evolved while America tries to revolve to the good ole days when our economy was strong, we had industry, and oh yes the USD was backed by gold.
ANYONE who is helping the "opposition" in Libya is doing the world a great favor. Anyone. Vladimir Putin would have gassed his palace by now and installed a puppet regime. But he was former KGB now known as the FSB.
Our CIA could do the same thing after about 6 weeks red tape and convincing the pres with some fake facts!
We should hire all the ex military and military guys on Eccie to go in as Mercs and take it for ourselves! Eccielabiastan. The providers could distract him....

We could all be official mandates for that sweet light crude. It's low in sulfur...

Seriously it's a good thing and France has done the world a favor.

Many years out of college my history is a bit foggy, but didn't France help the colonial army defeat the British, thereby help giving birth to our great nation?

Most American Injuns who fought were on the side of the Brits. Andy Jackson never forgot, and his experience is maybe the main reason for the expulsion of the Tribes west of the Mississippi. The nation was still young, and fragile, and Jackson worried about the Indians forming alliances with European powers for the purpose of re-colonizing America.
