Thanks For The Memories

I was a pretty active member on this board for a short while, but have not been active for a while.

I have been diagnosed with prostate cancer and will have surgery to remove my prostate later this month. The reason for posting this is to let you guys know, (ladies tell your SO and friends) how important is is to have a PSA test done regularly to check for prostate cancer... see link.

I thought that by having a physical and a regular blood test done that I was covered... WRONG!!! Some doctors don't think the test is accurate, but if they had done a PSA test on me, the cancer probably would have been detected sooner.

I have met some wonderful ladies here, and had plans to meet more of you... anyway, Thanks For The Memories...!

I wish you the best and will keep you in thoughts and prayers. I am a cancer survivor myself and know this is a very scary time. I had a coworkers son who died of this at age 19, he was too embarrassed to let a doc check him.

And thanks for the reminder. Every guy over 40 needs to get to a Urologist once a year and get checked. And if I may be so blunt: Some guys are leery about having a doctor stick his finger up their rectum to check their prostate. Get over it! It's a whole lot better that having cancer go undetected.

Good luck to you and thanks for the reminder. I am overdue. I don't think a prostate massage in an AMP qualifies.

I am at the age where several of my friends have undergone treatment and all were successful. I guess the good news is that the medical state of the art has really advanced and you will have the benefits of the latest and greatest science standing by you. You may be back to the Board quicker than you think.
