Thinking of a visit

I am thinking of visiting a friend on the Kansas side.... Possibly around Lawrence...Any good hotels that I can hobby in the area...And how good will my time there be...I will be there like a week or two....Is it worth my time even try to work or just kick it with my girl and works when I get back
