sterling, great post. hope you have a deliteful stay while here in dallas.
are you looking for a 4-5 star hotel, an extended stay hotel, a short-term apt rental?
in general, i'd say anything along the I-635/LBJ freeway, or up the Dallas North Tollway, or in the Addison area. that puts you prolly w/in driving distance of most guys here in dallas. if you want to make it easier for the mid-cities and ft. worth guys, then downtown ft worth or NE ft worth near I-820 and TX 183.
if you go the hotel route, go to orbitz.com or hotwire.com to check out hotel prices. i've heard from some women that they check there and then go to priceline.com and bid just under the listed rates [see below]. there's a feature on hotwire.com where you can select other sites to compare. also, if you see a good deal, you might book directly w/ the hotel's website or the hotel to ask for specials.
perhaps some of the other women here can give you tips on finding a good safe location [might ask in the powder room].
for entertainment and/or restaurants, go to
http://listings.guidelive.com - it's published by the dallas morning news and lists restaurants, clubs, movies, events, etc. you can search by neighborhood or name. it's one of the best sources of info for the area. also
http://www.dallasobserver.com [similar to the austin chronicle]
something a provider friend of mine sent me sometime ago.....
============================== ==========
What I do is go on
hotwire.com and ask for 4 star hotels in the dallas area. Usually i pick galleria area or park cities and galleria.
Then i see what it says is available. then i go to priceline and underbid that amount.
For example last week i went to hotwire and it said 4 star hotel in galleria area was $72. per night. I went to priceline and bid $65. it was accepted and viola!
