Luther was a guy who "made his bones" in the biz as a background singer. Some of his favorite work of mine comes from him singing harmony on "live" versions of some great songs by others. My man, Todd Rundgren is one that comes to mine.

He toured with Todd in...oh...[mumbling the year to hide the fact I remember it!]...1970-something-or-other & sings some killer harmony on live versions of TR classics like, "The Wheel", "Just One Victory", & "Sons of 1984"...

I've got a ton but I can't think of them at the moment....but this one was interesting:
