Switching Cat Foods?

Help me out, fellow cat people!!

My sweet little angel's first birthday is right around the corner, and at 13.6 pounds, I believe it's time to transition him to big boy food. I read online that you should start by mixing the new and old food. Unfortunately, baby Gucci is too smart for my games and has started picking out the old food to eat, and leaving the new. Should I just let his adult food be his only option or go out and buy several different bags of cat food and let him choose?

Has anyone else had that problem with their feline friend? How did you resolve it?

As you can tell, he's in grave danger of wasting away to nothing!

Grind up the kitten food in a processor and sprinkle it on top of the new food. It will help incorporate the flavor and smell into the new food, but he won't be able to separate it. Gradually add less after a few days... until he makes the transition.

Be strong, Vannah. #toughlove lol

P.S. That same tactic is how Ed gets shrimp... Just every once in a while, of course.
Definitely don't give him several different options of new food. That will upset his tummy! Talk to your vet or pet store pro about a high-quality adult food. Ask which are their best sellers!

Ed's more into taste than he is nutrition. He won't touch anything except Fancy Feast.

Gucci looks great. I love his little shirts!

Fancy fest is all I gave my cat. She would only eat soft food, fir years but she was worth it. RIP lil momma cat, sweetest cat I ever had.

Holy shit a Villanova grad. Is every fucking body from this generation a fucking snowflake cupcake? I'm just saying!! Hey I'm a little nutty, but my medication seems to be working lmao.
Pet foods aren't very well understood. Most commercial pet foods contain lots of stuff that isn't good for your kitty! Ingredients from China, grain, fillers, dyes, and even rendered Down road kill. There are some products on the market that are very good such as Nature's Logic. All Usa ingredients and Usda food grade. That's what my kitties eat! Veterinarian approved!
