Passing RW information through PM?

I was just talking to another provider via email, and we got on the topic of passing RW info through PMs. She is to the understanding it is not permitted.

If this is true, then how are we supposed to screen clients, pass information on potentially harmful clients, and screennames being used by LEO?

Can someone (actual MODS ) clarify this for me, Please?

That's a very common question Sarah.

RW information is permitted to be sent via PM.

With that said, management is not responsible for that information being leaked through a security breech that's no fault of ours.

Oh nothing was said about me or her. It was a conversation between two providers. One ended up banned because the other sent PMs to a mod and the one accused supposedly wasn't allowed to prove her side of things. Guess it happens a lot. I just wanted to know for myself so I didn't get banned.

I did ask for an actual mod. No dancing. Just acknowledging that he actually pointed out something I didn't know was there.

When screening a new client, the gentleman understands the information he's providing is being used for a reference check. In most instances, the guys lie about their first name, have a hobby phone number/email address & don't go into detail about where they work. So, when we have to report a potentially dangerous or crappy client, it wouldn't technically be considered outing & we have to mask phone numbers when we're posting an alert.
Outing is sharing RW information without the consent of the other person for no other reason but to be spiteful. RW Information= their actual name, work place, home address. Information that's not normally given during a screening process.

For an example: Lets say someone decides to send out a bunch of messages to other providers about a certain lady or gent without them knowing about it, telling these ladies all of their personal business, that IS outing.

Discretion isn't what it used to be in the hobby anymore though...

Not sure if it is allowed to pass the info but maybe it shouldn't be done regardless.

A false alert or mad member could possibly get a hold of the info and do serious damage. Accounts can be hacked and your pm's read.

I would use email, that way you wouldn't be accused of outing someone if your pm box got hacked.
