Losing weight; increasing libido

Red Tex's Avatar
I have been on quite a self improvement plan since Lent started. I gave up many things that are unhealthy, started working out, eating right(cut calories huge), no alcohol or tobacco.

I have not been to strip club or to see a provider, but my libido has gone back to what it was in my mid 20s. I have had to care for myself as part of the fast.

Has anyone else noticed this when a weight loss occurs?

Now I am taking offers if any ladies would like to help welcome me back into the fold next weekend. If so please PM.
Red...

Good for you! While I do my best to maintain weight within 5 pounds, the thing that really affects my drive is working out. Whenever I stray from my program, my drive decreases and stress levels increase.

With your new workout program, undoubtedly that's where a huge piece of your increased libido is coming from. Add to that the healthier lifestyle, and it's a slam dunk.
Wait until you "get some" in your new form. More stamina, more energy, more fun!

Congrats... in a big way! I experienced the same thing, over the last two years I've lost 92 pounds (eating better, bicycling about 100 miles a week) and my libido went through the roof. Of course, that lead to a variety of interesting forms of recreational exercise with accomplished personal trainers. I think P90XXX calls it "muscle confusion"

Interesting related side effect: As your waist size decreases, you gain about an inch "down below" for every 30-40 pounds you lose. I actually read that on the internet somewhere and YMMV, but I think the ratio turns out to be roughly accurate.

Live long and prosper!
Last year I lost 160 lbs in 6 months. I would have thought my libido would have increased, but the odd thing was it did the opposite. I actually lost interest. I went from 320# to 150. I am now at 200 and it has picked up a bit more. I was really shocked that my libido didn't go through the roof. The one cool thing was when you lose 160 pounds you find an extra 4" of Mr. Happy that had been hidden inside...

Easily, thats funny that you have "grown.". One of my customers husband had gastric bypass, lost a lot of weight and "shrank." he is now an ex.

I am curious to how your mileage is with providers. Is it the same or do they do more or seem to enjoy you better now than before?

Von, was your loss through surgery? I would imagine that nutition could have a lot to do with it. I am eating healthier than ever before.
No. I did HCG. You probably saw me on Billboards throughout the metroplex. Was amazing. I was losing 3-5 lbs a day.Changed my diet and entire lifestyle. Was cool going from a size 56 pants to a 28. Saved my life. Dr. Had given me a yr to live before I started it. Made me a new man.

And so here I am... but still hoping that one of these days her interest level will come full circle

The hCG diet is AWESOME! I know a few co-workers who lost something like 40+ pounds of fat really fast and they have kept it off. They went to a medical weight loss clinic called Equilibrium Weight Loss (www.hcg-diet-dallas.com) . I also have one buddy who is doing hormone replenishment therapy with them too. They supplement his testosterone back to a much more youthful level. He looks really good. I plan to do this too.

Good for you Red - and yes, weight loss (55lbs) has DRAMATICALLY increased the drive, and potency I have. Now the Vitamin C is just for fun, not required!
I finished the Insanity routine a few weeks ago and didn't notice any libido difference...however, I don't get "worn out" any more during a session...quite the opposite!

+1 on the down below....literally!
Works for us ladies as well. As some who see me on a regular basis know, I'm currently shrinking. My libido is spiking even more (which sucks when its slow, disadvantage of not dating). My energy levels are higher and I'm in even a better mood than before (I've always been a happy person).

I lost 45 pounds in an episode of major depression a few years ago. Even after I sort of got over the depression my libido was lower. Might have been a lingering effect of the depression. But at least in my circumstance, weight loss did nothing for me.
