Best dance clubs in Dallas?

true_whatever's Avatar
I haven't been to a dance (non-strip) club in Dallas in a few years. I was wondering if anyone here knew the local scene well with current info on which clubs were "good". I know it's subjective, but looking for opinions.

Criteria:
  • Mid 20s to late 30s crowd (preference would be early 30s)
  • Dance floor that is actually used, not just a socializing club/bar
  • Plays modern Top 40 music, like the stuff on Kiss FM
Please don't turn this into a debate on music. I love ALL types of music for different occasions. Dance/pop(/techno?) music is just what I prefer to dance to.

I don't care if the focus of the place is on singles or couples, nor if it is upscale or midscale. (no dives please)

And...If you want TECHNO...The World Famous Lizard Lounge is the best for bringing in great D.J.'s

I saw DJ Irene a few weeks back with a well known Provider Friend and a Super Cool Client turned friend.

Most clubs now remix alot so and alot more songs now are incorating the techno mix.

Although, Lizard Lounge does have a younger crowd...It dont give a shit because I am there for the music.

If your a Night Owl...The Clubhouse (Insomnia) & Jaquars in Dallas do have DJ's @ 3am - 8am every Friday & Saturday - Pure Techno

No stripping either @ 3am - turns into a mini RAVE

They are busy or were back then and very crowded.
The money spent on a Reserved table was not so much VIP or reserved, as drunk girls kept floppin' down and falling into chairs let unattended.
BUT GREAT DJ - if you can get out to the Dance Floor.
Its kind of the "who is who" in Dallas and who needs to be seen - SNOBBY

I do however recommend The Living Room (I believe thats what it is called)- The Lounge Inside The W as you walk in to your left -

I really like that place! Very nice establishment
Berk, anytime you want in @ Ghostbar str8 to the dance floor, no lines, just stright VIP treatment, PM me

I remember both Lizard Lounge and Ghost Bar. Although my last trip to LL was a while back. I guess it hasn't changed from your description of it. LL floor was packed the few times I went there, but not so much people dancing as just crowded in to watch/listen to the DJs. Both places were cool.

Never heard of The Living Room. Sounds like a non-dance lounge-type place. I'll check it out.

Times I've been recently, there was a very PRETTY Crowd and I really enjoyed myself.
TexRich I remember the good old days of .25 drinks at Iguana Mirage. Had some great times there, along with Spy Club, Red Jacket, Club Seven. Dallas used to have a good bar and club scene, really gone down hill if you ask me.

Anyway's back to the original post, we normally go to Lotus or Aura for a full club experience. Went to Ghostbar once, great view, but music is way too loud for the space and just a touristy feel to it. The bar that Berkleigh said downstairs at the W is a lot better in opinion.

If you want a cool bar, not a club, but there's some dancing check out Slip Inn. Awesome bartender and a cool diverse crowd, not the typical douche bags that Dallas is famous for.

Berkleigh if you're ever up for Sunday night Lizard Lounge for The Church, let me know. Always tough to find people to go out that late on a Sunday.
I agree w/Berk.

Hit Lizard Lounge for the good Techno...Much younger I haven't been there since..whew lets not go there. Heads up lots of candie kids, but you get that with the Raver crowds.

In Dallas a few to check out Plush, PM, The Bank (if it's still open) and my personal favorite Cameo. Met and hung out with one of my favorite pornstars there randomly Rachel Starr. Look her up, I BET you'll be in line this weekend.

Others worth mentioning I hear Joyce is ok, Wish is open Fridays-Sundays. Zoouk just opened but meeeh...

Hit the 'W' for sure...there are plenty of other places to go but they don't fall into the 'Dance' club category. And there's a few that are hmmmmm lets upscale than others....Kinky's on Greenville for example. It gets packed, they dance for sure but sometimes I dunno. Enjoy man.

Berk I'm an Ex-dancer myself and tend to get bored with chicas who can't move... PM me when you all go out again I enjoy an energetic crowd

Looks like a little group is forming here. I'm not sure how many friends Berk has, or what they're into, but maybe some other providers that enjoy dancing and going out will chime in too.

Either that or Berk has to handle all of us!
Wondering how i can hang with berkleigh and her friends lol. I have been to the ghost bar and did table service. I thought it was just ok. You might like Sambuca's or Black finn
