Chauch,

At the risk of sounding too condesending why don't you just go to the reviews, find one you like and call her. The recommendations are at the bottom of the reviews. This is the oldest profession in the world catering to the oldest desires. You show up bragging about a first time hobby experience and you are going to run the risk of getting ripped off. They can't help it. So do what comes natural. You have been laid before I assume. The difference here is you put the money up front, not 12 years later in a payroll deduction direct to the courts and then the ex-wife. Otherwise you come off as lazy LE trying to get someone else to do your work for you. (IMHO)
Agreed with the being ripped off part, but please baby we are not all like that. I can help it. It is just not right to do someone wrong (ripping them off) I so believe in Karma. Now I am not sure that you meant that as mean but I am only on my first cup of coffee.
I concur that it is highly possible to be "ripped off" when you're brand new to the hobby, but not every provider is guaranteed to do that sort of thing to someone. When you're new I agree that you should check reviews and make sure that the lady is verified and legit and not some type of scam artist or LE. Also since you are new and don't have any references I'm assuming, you should probably seek out providers that have alternate methods of screening.
Everyone play safe.

My $.02. Go with an experienced provider. She will have the maturity and experience to make you feel very at ease. Might consider one who is a bit more mature than the 19-20 yo hotties that you see advertising on BP.

Look for reviews that emphasize that the provider was easy to talk to and made them feel at ease.

Good luck.
Whatever you do, don't email or instant message me asking a million questions you can easily find the answers to online via a google search or by reading reviews. I've been getting a LOT of that lately and it is annoying!
