China and Nazi Germany.. Correlation?

China has been building its Empire unchecked for years.. gobbling up territory as the World looks on, paralyzed with fear and indecision. similar to Germany 80 years ago.

Obama was a highly vocal critic, but.. ultimately he didn't want (or care) to engage. Trump's move is a start, it's time for action, not words.

this move is 6-7 years late, I think.
Chung is correct.

China, Russia, N.Korea and lots of other bullies will push and push and take what they want until someone with some stones pushes back.

China and US will never go to war. The instant the US stops importing Chinese goods their economy will collapse. Ours will not be in great shape but their Commie Economy is built on full employment for everyone, even if it means China is dumping goods around the world. With no US$ coming in their ppl will be out of work and starve.

Russia has shown they will kick some ass, just as long as it is some piss ant country that cannot defend itself. Putin is a bully with Napoleon complex and trained as a KGB liar. You cannot trust him. So far he has outsmarted Prez T and just about everyone else.

China will not help with N.Korea because PDRK is a huge customer. Plus if N.Korea collapses all those refugee Koreans will pile into China. Therefore, PDRK is going to be a very difficult situation to solve. Best bet is to no longer isolate Kim and invite him to the world table. Sort of like a nasty version of Cuba. It will take decades to get N.Korea to settle down and it will be a difficult pill for US to swallow.

Claiming a few deserted islands and reefs is significant,y different than reimdustrializing the Ruhr, militarizing the Rhineland, occupying the Sudetenland, occupying all of Czechoslovakia, and invading Poland.

that's Chinese propaganda that those islands were deserted. 5 other Countries would disagree with your assessment. when those "deserted" Islands becomes a basis for nuclear threat, and busted shipping lanes, you and the rest of the Western Hemisphere will be sorry you downplayed the threat.

of course the Israeli presence here understands the impact Germany had.. but 5 unimportant Asian Countries laying claim to territory stolen by China?

who cares..

China is a huge threat and I fear not a paper tiger. My hope in the early 2k's was that W and Putin would collude to bring China down. No luck. Yes, China's economy does need US dollars but they have been practicing socialist capitalism long enough now to build some wealth. They have a 200+ million man standing army. That would be a shit show of a conflict if it were to happen.

Our best hope would be a two front war with China. Russia to the north/west and the Allies to the south/east.

Trump is on the right track with this. The only alternative is to build on a reemergence of Japanese military power with a trade agreement of the US to feed Japan and supply oil. Russia is not the threat now with a stronger President. Russia has had a policy of fear of encroachment for centuries and have desperately tried and succeeded in building a buffer zone around them. Russia must export it's oil for a lively economy and to finance military posture. Again, Trump's energy policy may succeed in taking the wind out of those sails, just as it occurred in the early 80's. The other player here is India. Trump has already been talking to the Indians on Indian-American trade, and I suspect that the long term goal is to diffuse Chinese economic strength by shifting that capability to India. The final result would be to have two strong allies ideally positioned to intercede with US assistance. The flaky card here would be the Philippines, who have been a bit wobbly lately.

When one figures the deficit in the balance of trade with China, the USA has bought and paid for the new Chinese Navy....seems to me Trump is the only recent President that understands this and the Pandora's Box of dangers associated with it.

Does anyone know if Obama gave any reason as to why he suspended the US operations in those waters?
