Depression

I have dealt with some level of anxiety my whole life, but with several issues going on in the past year, the depression is starting to become overwhelming. If anyone has been through this, please let me know what has worked for you. Please pm me if you don't want to respond publicly. Thanks...
Try getting some exercise or do some walking. Eating dark chocolates (70 percent cacao or better) helps too. Stay away from the booze.

As has been said, seek help from a medical professional, not here...

Seek help where ever you can get it if it's a positive message. Medical pro's can help but not always. Depends on what's bothering you.

Here's a suggestion. Volunteer at battered women's, homeless, or neglected child shelter and watch how your depression likely starts to fade away through the power of helping others in need.

Note: Whatever you do stay away from the mega churches and hot shot pastors. They will 1.) steal your money and depress you further 2.) charge you a fee for each prayer on your behalf.

I am curious if you are posting about this here, because you began hobbying and you thought it might help? Are you feeling there is a connection now between the hobby and your depression?

Or maybe one has nothing to do with the other and you are just looking for a place to share this away from everyday life?

Anyway, I second Adrienne's post and also agree with Sistine Chapel about volunteering.

I get depressed sometimes but it usually happens at night, when there isn't much volunteer work to do and not too many people to talk to, so I take up hobbies to keep me busy like painting or photography.

Life is depressing. You have 2 options. First you get over it and move on.
