Osama Bin Laden has been killed as a result of a US attack on a mansion located about 60 miles northwest of Islamabad Pakistan sometime last week. The delay in the disclosure was because of the waiting on DNA confirmation.

His remains are in the possession on the U.S.

Fuck yeah!! I would like to think that right about now, he is starting his eternal punishment by getting screwed up the ass by a pineapple, spiky end first of course!

I just read that he was shot in the head. No confirmation on that just yet but Drudge report has that as its headline.
This evening, only a half hour before I got this news, I was recalling to myself how in early 2002 -- when bin Ladin was reportedly holed up in a cave, hiding from US air strikes -- a local radio (WOAI) announcer, covering Operation Enduring Freedom, taunted:

"Osama, come out to play-ay!"

He was spoofing the climactic scene of a 1979 cult movie about NYC gangs, The Warriors -- when the villain taunts,

"Warriors, come out to play-ay!"

I even watched a youtube clip of the scene this evening:

How freaky is that?!

STATEMENT BY PRESIDENT GEORGE W. BUSH
May 1, 2011 Earlier this evening, President Obama called to inform me that American forces killed Osama bin Laden, the leader of the al Qaeda network that attacked America on September 11, 2001. I congratulated him and the men and women of our military... and intelligence communities who devoted their lives to this mission. They have our everlasting gratitude. This momentous achievement marks a victory for America, for people who seek peace around the world, and for all those who lost loved ones on September 11, 2001. The fight against terror goes on, but tonight America has sent an unmistakable message: No matter how long it takes, justice will be done.

Don't know that it will change anything, it could give the fanatics more of a resolve, but I sure am glad they finally caught up to him!!!!

The military industrial complex makes it hard for the US to permanently leave any place where we've conducted operations. We still have troops in Germany, Korea, Vietnam, and Japan to name a few. So, no the war maybe over, but the operations for our troops will continue.
