I want to caution hobbyist who ask for actual legit massages during a session. Please, please, take the time BEFORE your session to find out where the provider went to college or trade school to learn how to do massage. You DO NOT want to allow someone who has not been properly trained do a massage on you.
Here is a list of some of the results I have personally heard from clients:
Impacted bowels from an abdomen massage
Physically sick from leaving the body unbalanced
Feeling drunk the next day due to not being given proper after care instructuons, try working with that all day.
Weak and painful muscles from the flood of toxins to one specific area that getting stuck from an incomplete massage
Migraine headache from the massage missing a body part during the massage
Inability to move certain parts of the body due to stress being moved to a single area and not out of the body.
Bruising from going to deep, to fast during deep tissue
Split muscles that end up tearing during a workout due to nuru being done improper
I have even had clients tell me of having to go to tge ER due to the amount of pain being so intense.
This is only a partial list of what can and has gone wrong by getting a massage from someone without proper training.
It could be a massage place in the mall, a private therapist, a provider, or just a friend who has been told they have good hands. No matter the case, do yourself a favor and wait to see someone who has the education, skills, and experience to provide the service.
There are several providers who actually do know how to do a massage correctly and give you the relief you seek. Just be sure to ask the questions and follow up to research on the information you're given. Just because they have a table, doesn't mean they are properly trained. Tables can be purchased online.
Have a great week! Play safe and have fun!
