PSA - Phones and Driving

CurvyKatie's Avatar
It's illegal to drive and talk on the phone in Austin, I don't know what official rules are here in Houston, but I do not talk on the phone and drive. This is for my safety and the safety of everyone driving around me. If you call me ten times and then text me ten times while I am driving to ask me why I won't pick up the phone to answer your last ten phone calls while I am in the car, I am going to block you. Everybody knows how bad the traffic is in Houston lately and my priority is arriving safely, or at the least, avoiding a fender bender. This should be common sense, but it is not for some people and I wanted to make a post for those that do not have enough sense to understand that. There is nothing that can't wait until I either arrive or have a chance to pull over.

And if I am not taking phone calls, I am most certainly not going to text you either.

Speaking of phones and cars, in case anybody wasn't aware (and judging from how many idiotic yahoos I've seen doing it over the last couple of days while stuck on the freeway, the number of uninformed or I-don't-care is HUGE), the state-wide ban on texting behind the wheel went into effect on September 1st.

At least get a hands-free device like Bluetooth if you simply must communicate while in our bumper car demolition derby traffic. Rear-end me and I will get out and slap you upside the head. Fancy don't do backdoors of ANY type.

I didn't know if it had gone statewide yet. It has been that way in Austin for a quite a while now.

And as for my response for getting a hands free, how about not distracting me by calling freaking TEN motherf***ing times while I am driving?

There is no excuse for that.

Debating on removing my number from public view entirely, getting a new one for UTR privacy that will only be given out AFTER screening, but then there's the high probability that somebody will stick it in a review and I won't be able to get it removed and will have gone to all of the effort to change a number I've had 10+ years for naught, so never mind.

Thanks Seeking P. Really it is essentially the same type of rant that I am getting at.

And I haven't allowed anyone to have my number ever, until after screening. And this is exactly why, some guys go nuts once they get a hold of it.
Who cares?

Well it wouldn't be you since I would never see you.

You can move along now and go back to your usual stalking, etc.

I am abandoning this thread now. Once WW has started posting it's all going downhill from here.
