Wireless hobby phone required?

smilingbill12's Avatar
I recently lost access to my wireless hobby phone (employer-reimbursed but was still mine) which I used for other personal reasons. I still have access to conference room fixed lines. How important is a phone on the go for 'meetings'? I'm curious if others don't have mobile phones and if it is appropriate to gather more information earlier in the meeting? Opinions?

If really that important, suggestions for low cost alternatives?
I always suggest a guy get a hobby phone. Too many times have I heard stories of providers calling a guy weeks/months later for a session or the wife ends up finding out.

I can only speak for myself, but I have a two call system. So, if the guy doesn't have a mobile phone, he doesn't get my info. I refuse to give out any information a day or two before or even hours before.
I know someone who is a stickler about you calling as you pull up, that way she can look out and check to see if you are good. To me, it is a big deal as well... I havent come across anyone who doesnt have a mobile phone yet either. I would suggest getting something. Makes us alittle supicious when you dont have one.
Tracfones are cheap, the minutes are cheap too. And if it really comes down to it, it isn't a problem to just throw it out if you need. I think you will find that you really do need something.
Definitely need one. All the reasons listed above are correct. I too have the call me when you arrive and only then will I give the rest of the information. I never give out information on where I am til 1 day before you get the hotel/area and the day of you get the room. I like knowing you will be arriving in a few moments as to sitting and wondering if you are late or you arrive early. And sometimes things happen like say traffic etc so having one and keeping in contact if such an occurrence arises is just plain common courtesy.

"conference room fixed lines"? What does that mean? Is that a conference room at work, where you would go to make a call to set up an appointment with an escort? that just seems odd.

Get a cell phone.
