City Council Votes To Close Adult Club After Prostitution Allegations

WACO (May 3, 2011)--A man who says he helps run Sonny's BYOB says he plans to appeal a Waco City Council decision Tuesday night to revoke the club's business license for one year.
The City Council voted unanimously to revoke the license to operate as a sexually oriented business on Tuesday night, citing an ongoing problem with the solicitation of prostitution at the club.

"If a girl got picked up soliciting someone in front of City Hall would the Mayor go to jail? It's the same thing." *******, who's daughter owns Sonny's, said after the council's decision.
News Ten obtained a 6-page letter the city sent the club on April 18th, allegeding a number of violations to the city's Cod e of Ordinances.
According to the letter, the club "knowingly allowed" prostitution on the premises.
The letter cites a Waco Police investigation on January 22, 2010, where an undercover officer approached a dancer who told the officer, "they could go to a private room for 30 minutes."
According to the letter, the dancer then explained, "the house, referring to Sonny's BYOB, would be paid $100.00 for the use of the room while she would be paid $150.00 for her services."
The dancer was then arrested, the letter says.
On April 24, 2010, the letter says police entered again and arrested another dancer and charged her with prostitution as well.
The allegations go on from there.
The letter says two fire marshals with the Waco Fire Department entered the club as part of an inspection.
"They entered Sonny's to being an inspection of all doors and exits and discovered that the door to the 'High Roller' room was locked," the letter says.
Eventually, a manager located the keys to the room and opened the door.
The letter says the fire investigators walked into the room and observed a naked woman and an aroused, partially dressed man.
***** says he plans to keep the club open until he receives a certified sign copy of the Council's decision.
He says he plans to file court papers on Wednesday in a bid to keep the club open.

Who would pick up a hooker in front of City Hall!!! Ha! Ha! That's almost as ridiculous as picking up a hooker in one of the most obvious places....a strip club! If the police want to bust prostitutes and johns, the strip club is the first place they set up a sting!!

We do need to be aware that prostitution is illegal and this is a reminder to us all to be sure that when we have sex with another consenting adult, it is not for money, but mutual accompaniment. Paying for sex is just wrong! It is immoral and illegal. That's why I never pay for sex. I have been known to woo a beautiful woman with perfume and dinner and movies and trips to the islands and cloths and flowers and........wait a minute, on second thought, the cash would be cheaper!!! Why is prostitution illegal again!?!?!?

Seriously though, be careful out there guys and girls. This is why ECCIE and other sites are the best way to meet consenting adult hobbyists.
