What is your favorite NOLA steakhouse?
I am craving some quality red meat tonight...
Where can a girl get the best steak in New Orleans? (Preferably in the Quarter, CBD, Warehouse District, or Garden District)
Kisses!!
Natalie
I like Chophouse on Magazine best.
Crescent City Steakhouse. All beef aged in house, prices are a steal for prime beef. Just be careful. Not the best neighborhood, but they do have private security that monitors their parking lot. As good as Ruth's and Dickie Brennan, but waaay cheaper, plus in a historic building, open since the early 1900s
Thank you for all of the wonderful recommendations! I went to Dickie Brennan's last night and enjoyed it.
I think I will try Crescent City Steakhouse next time. Does it have parking?
I ate at Crescent City Steakhouse and I was not impressed. I could cook a better steak at my own house on my grill. Lol Ruth Chris is very expensive I've ate there to one time just to try it and see what all the hype was about. I didn't find it very appetizing. But that's just me. I love Texas Roadhouse but that's on the Westbank. Right off of Manhattan Boulevard off the freeway. It's not expensive and their steaks are very very good. I eat there quite often.
M.M.
Got you all beat: Charlie’s Steakhouse on Dryades uptown. The BEST.
Mr John's stake house St Charles Ave, Crescent City second and Ruth's third. Chain restaurants Outback has a great Filet Mignon.
Crescent City does have its own off street parking with private guards in the parking lot. Ask for a curtained booth when you make your reservations. Word is Crescent City used to be a mob hang out and the cirtained booths were so the police didn't see their meetings. Cool place.
Sorry, Melissa Madyson, you must have gone to crescent city on a bad night. I've always had great service and steaks there. The sides are lacking, but I'm after a steak, not sides. I like Texas Roadhouse, but it's a chain and is on par with Outback with better prices. What you got against the Westbank??? (Kidding before anyone thinks I'm being serious) Everybody loves the Westbank (best place to find Chinese in this city.)
I have never been to Mr. John's, but I've heard it's great. Gotta give it a go some day soon.
Dickie Brennan’s is hard to beat, in my opinion. I’m gonna try some of the others on my next trip...
I’m with el gureo, Mr Johns is amazing and really amazing.
Ruth’s Chris is actually quite good, but in my experience you need to get the “bone-in “ rib-eye. But it’s a chain and maybe not giving money to the local community. Ms. Madyson.... maybe one night you’ll let me cook you a steak and let me put a smile on your face, for a change. Lol
I really like the chophouse MrLucky. But unless you’re referring to a different place, I’m not sure it’s actually on magazine. But I believe it’s a few streets over.
I’m not trying to correct you, I’m actually typing this to find out if there is a chophouse on magazine, which is much closer to me.
The following addresses places I’ve been to, that Janet been addressed above previously.
Emerils steakhouse was really one of the worst places I’ve visited. It made me sad. I was so happy to finally go to one of his places. But my experience disappointed.
John Besh (local chef) has a steakhouse in the casino in the quarter. It’s called (I think) Besh’s steakhouse. It’s amazing and one place that I feel is worth paying for a steak outside of my backyard. I don’t say that often.
As a side note. Chef Besh is a local person who owns multiple restaurants in NoLA. He tends to use only local, fresh vendors and serves amazing food!!!
Another place he owns/runs is called LUk, I haven’t tried their steak, but their stupid expensive hamburger is amazing!!!
Luke has a great hamburger. Among several other things.
It's on Perdido and St. Charles. In the Hilton Hotel.
Expensive, but worth the price.
Right across St. Charles, Trenasse has some of the best evening meals in town, for a decent price.
Try their specials, especially the crawfish pie.
