Wife and I are about a week or so away from a cruise. Never been on one. How private are the balconies? Are there any other parts of the ship that public sex might be possible?

On the carnival boat, room balcony’s were visually private.
As far as public, there were hot tubs out on the deck that were raised up enough that we were able to make the water a wee bit cloudy before we got out!
That was as far as we went though.
Lots of inviting looking nooks to be honest though, especially late at night!
Understand that there are cameras covering about every square inch of those boats, and I doubt you will be treated kindly if you get caught.
I know that on our first cruise, a fella got into a fight and was put off the boat at the next port. His brother (whom remained on board) said it was turning out to be quite a hassle to fly back to the states, as he was traveling on a birth certificate and not a passport.
Most cruises have an "adults only" area. I've seen people getting it on twice in that area of the ship. It's usually part of an upper deck. Private balconies are typically visible. But who cares! Go for it!
