Number Guru is a free reverse phone number lookup. You enter a phone number and it tells you who it belongs to.

There are other apps out there too for this "Mr ID" and such. I've used several with varying results

majority of these apps and majority of the times give only basic information..ie name of the service provider and type of service, location...and not the name of the person.
I looked up 6 of the recent out of town ads of the influx of providers and each was registered to a person named "Kelly Jones", "Sharon Smith" or "Mary Summers". I also looked up the number of a provider whose real name I already knew, and it did return her real name with a link to a website that showed her maiden name and the names of her relatives (ex's and parents I'm guessing). And this is from a Sprint Wireless number. It might be a good idea for providers and hobbyists to use this service to see if their real background information is available and either request a new number or use a service like Google Voice for an anonymous number.
This ap works. My unlisted landline, cell phone all return a name. Not sure I like it.
Kinda scary. I looked up a few different numbers, family mostly, and it all came back with 100% accuracy.... Makes me wonder exactly who can/has been looking up my number this easily!

the tool gives the info for the listed numbers and I don't think it can give information for an unpublished/unlisted numbers.
I've never heard of getting a google number up until about a week ago... can someone explain to me what that is??
