You're not the only one, https://eccie.net/showthread.php?p=1060632341

Don't worry. The hobby will find a way to survive.

That’s crazy, is p411 shutting down? What about eccie? Craigslist beauty ads? They could be any weird creep who won’t want to go through a screening process. I guess, it’s going to end up as word of mouth or girls seeing regulars only. Because I’m afraid to post on backpage even more so on Craigslist.

This is what happens when there is opportunity for one person or group to make a profit through exploitation of others. Hobbying is not cheap but just like big business, these folks have found a way to increase sex profits by taking away the rights of their workers or simply kidnapping or extortion.
The more johns that participate, the less likely they will stop the exploitation.
It's a broken system as it would take drastic changes to fix it. Just like the drug war.
Some politicians wife or ceo's wife probably caught them cheating and was flabbergasted about it and they decided to pull back the curtain to find out what's happening. Surprise!

Interesting views above, and lets not go overboard too quickly.

(see top two links in my signature)

Congress passes Acts which become laws when signed by the President and then usually (and in this instance definitely!) get tested in the Courts.

Yup, corporations and individuals will certainly be stressed out in the interim, but some careful and conscious planning can help all of relax and continue business more or less as usual.

Meanwhile, my advice is to create back ups of whatever you feel needs to be saved and keep those somewhere safe.

Contacts, photos, reviews, ads, whatever ... many of us went through this same scenario in 2009 when aspd was creaking along and died (due to internal neglect) and those who looked ahead were prepared for transition.

I think p411 is hosted in Canada, so it should be out of jurisdiction. Don’t know about eccie. The terms of service say they comply with DMCA, so it’s probably in the US.

WELL FK ME : (

US Congress just passed HR 1865, "FOSTA", seeking to subject websites to criminal and civil liability when third parties (users) misuse online personals unlawfully.
Any tool or service can be misused. We can't take such risk without jeopardizing all our other services, so we are regretfully taking craigslist personals offline. Hopefully we can bring them back some day.
To the millions of spouses, partners, and couples who met through craigslist, we wish you every happiness!
