Issues adding pics to showcase. Trying to attach one to this thread. Hope it works.
Usually get an error msg that file is too large. I suck at this

You should be able to upload from your website or a hosting site. It can be a pain though as a lot of times they are too big. This one looks good though. :-)

Different pictures compress to different levels, so they end up different sizes. Pics with large areas of one color will compress down smaller. Lots of small details leave it larger.
