I don't think that Manafort being found guilty on 8 counts and a mistrial found on the other 10 counts will be much of a negative for Trump, if at all. However, Michael Cohen might come down hard on Trump's credibility. I see no way this will be a positive for Trump. Can't wait to see his tweets.

Cohen was going to get nailed anyway. Him or Trump because of what they said out in the open. With his plea, they can move forward with campaign finance proceedings (I know nothing about the violation.)
I really don't care about the Bank Fraud charges. People would probably cheer that someone got one over on the bank. In my book, the ones they nailed him on were the ones I feel were true. Just goes to show you the character of the guy. I bet Trump didn't produce his tax records (which if he did, would have hamstrung alot of accusations about him) because you'd probably find alot of parallels between him and Manafort.

Can the charges that are a mistrial be brought to court again with a new jury?

The biggest thing is no one knows if Trump paid Cohen through his personal accounts or campaign accounts.

I still think to an extent that Trump won't be charged but he'll be sweating out before the next election cycle.

No matter what happens from this moment on, the fact remains that the conviction of Manafort and the plea bargain by Cohen are in no way positives for Trump. They are negatives and it is anyone's guess as to how negative they will be in November and 2020.

If any Trump supporter can put a positive spin on yesterday's activities I'd love to hear it.

I agree with you that the conviction of Manafort and plea by Cohen are eye sores.

That being said, we have precedence that truly bad things can be overlooked or swept away with the Clintons. While the most vocal majority are the ones that hate trump, the true silent majority do and are getting to the point of being fed up with all the liberal stuff that is spewed.

While this is a black spot on Trump, I don't believe it is going to be but a bump in the road. In my opinion we have overlooked allow more egregious things to slide than this.

The central Texas area around Austin if very liberal and blue, I suspect areas outside of that may not be impressed but are like "Meh" big deal.

Just my thoughts as a Trump supporter.
