Hello to the ECCIE community and thank you to the people who make this site happen.

As a new guy, I understand that it will be more challenging meeting up with a provider. Does anyone have any advice regarding initial communication and screening? I have been courteous and thoughtful in my opening and subsequent messages, but have failed to get much further than an initial reply most of the time. Thank you in advance for all of your wonderful suggestions.
Go for the providers that are newbie friendly. They will screen you differently since you don’t have any references and nobody to vouche for you yet. My advice for a provider would be Giabella. She’s great to talk to and easy on the eyes.
Everyone assumes new guys are police officers so don't get worked up on the hate that will come to you.

DailyGrind, thank you for the recommendation. It is much appreciated.

He Who shall not be named: yeah, I agree. I also stopped using military time for trying to arrange things, that also seemed to help.
1. Always do painstaking, thorough research.

2. Always think with your big head.

It also helps to have more than a month of registration on sites I turn away anyone who's just "browsing" for numbers of providers

Truer words were never spoken. I know everyone has to start somewhere but seeing a brand spanking new profile just scares the bejeezus out of me. Lol..

For what it's worth.

Layne: yeah, I can definitely see where that would be scary. If I were in your position I’d probably feel the same way.

Charles: if international travel is an available option, you may have better luck there. Some places are all inclusive.

Read through providers website. Go through screening process. Some are newbie friendly and some are not. Just ask. It never hurts to ask questions. On my webpage I think I have almost ever question answered but you are always welcome to drop a quick note.
