Who was he LD? I don't watch alot of TV or movies.
He played a detective on the show "Columbo" hay was popular back in the 80's. He also appeared in the movie "The Princess Bride" as the grandfather of the main character.

Well I'll be ... he was in a movie I have seen many times. I loved The Princess Bride. I used to watch it as a kid.
