A cooter mint

After a disagreement on the pronunciation of this word, here is the verbatim definition. It's not mint for your cooter but it does sound like one.

Accouterment:* (a-koo'-ter-ment) (n.)---1.* The act of accoutering.*** 2. plural--The equipment other than arms or dress issued to a soldier.** 3. plural---The outward forms whereby a thing may be recognized: trappings.*** Antique British:* accoutrement.

Some cooters do need mints.

I always thought it was a fancy French word for accessories.
i.e Napoleon addressing his tropps...
"Soldiers affix your Accouterments!"
