Hey, she at least grasps a simple concept that seems to evade Congress and the Administration!

Some members of Congress got it but they are still in the minority to the deal making moderates.
You know our founding fathers were radicals. The status quo wanted to make some kind of deal with King George even though they recognized that they would be back to the drawing board in the near future. The radicals said it is time to move forward because we know what is coming.
Same thing can be said for the radical republicans before and during the Civil War.

I think it is time for some radicals in Congress and the Senate. Time to make the tough decisions about our economic future and spending. Yes, there will be pain but we enjoyed the good times by supporting people who gave us stuff. I only wish there was some way to put the jerks on trial who brought us here.
Barleycorn and Tea Baggerz think it is necessary to destroy the country in order to save it.

Some of us do not want to live in your version of the world and 1959 was not all that great anyway. We want to go forward not backward.

I'm curious. Where did you (and it was you, not us) come up with 1959 as the year that we all yearn for?

The fact of the matter is that we are going backward the progressives as far as our freedoms are concerned. A man (or woman) could buy a gun, have a drink, visit the fairer sex, and say pretty much what we damned pleased without having to worry about LE, the ATF, the press, the NAACP, the ACLU, or the politically correct Hollywood crowd. Yes, we are going backwards but some people are kind of myopic.

Catnip. I don't want to go back to 1959. However, I also don't want to go back to post WWI Germany, which is where we are heading. Lilo gets it, why don't you?
Catnip, would you mind expounding on your notion of "destroying" America in order to save it?

The Tea Party supports smaller gov't, fiscal discipline, and lower taxes. I am curious to hear your thoughts on how these principles equate to destruction.
