Anyone heard about it?

It was for S and P and extras.

I think they were checking for underage dancers. Bucks Dallas was doing due diligence and sending dancers home who did not have ID with them or had not gotten background check results. I guess Dallas vice is getting ramped up again...

I thought Dallas law required dancers to register with the police for background checks? The club is setting itself up for trouble if they don't follow.

So under Texas law, if you are around an underage dancer(enjoying yourself) and even if you don't know she is a minor, you are now committing a felony...?

Last major vice raid that I remember was on the old Fare Room... It got shut down afterwards. Of course I've never seen a club where extras were so easy to get so it wasn't surprising.

Underage as in what? Between 18-20?

18 is the minimum legal age for a girl to work as a stripper.

She just can't drink and she will have to wear a bracelet.

In Houston, dancers are required to go through a background check with Houston Police Vice and if they pass, they are issued an ID allowing them to strip in a Gentlemen's Club.

They are also required to have that ID on them at all time while in the club and visible too so many dancers buy one of those work ID holders with a clip and clip it around their ankle on their high heels.

The objection that many dancers have to that ID is their real names and addresses are printed on it the same way you woould have it on a Driver's License:

all that information is also available to the public at the Police department anytime anyone asks for it which have resulted in a couple of stalking cases.

Interestingly I did have a dancer refuse a drink a few weeks ago, and she then admitted rather sheepishly that she was under 21. From her appearance, I would have never guessed that.

Do the dancers in Houston still wear those gross looking pasties on their breasts?

All this is the result of city of Houston attempt to shut down all strip clubs in Houston which began in the early 90's (1992 if I remember correctly) when the city changed the then existing laws regarding distances between strip clubs and the usual places: church, schools, residential neighborhoods, which would essentially had put all existing strip clubs at the time out of business since they all be forced to move and were only given a certain amount of time to move, comply or close.

It resulted in a legal fight between the strip clubs owners and the city that lasted over 20 years that went all the way to Federal courts when the owners sued the city in Federal court.

The background check in Dallas is not done with the police. I remember a few years ago it was with a third-party company with an office on Manana; don't remember the name.

^^^ BioVerify.

$50 for applicants with a Texas ID or DL and $100 for applicants with an out of town ID or DL.

They are still there and still doing background checks on strippers and they are DOJ and FBI approved and certified.

They will also do other background checks like on tenants or employment eligibility if any one of y'all here are landlords or employers.

Maybe I need a side job with them. I need one of those inspection stampers. Inspected by #254.

They do it while they girls wait.

The girls applying to be strippers are told to go there and have their background check done while they wait and bring the results back to the club along with their completed club employment application.

The only problem with that is if the girl doesn't get hired, she is out $50-100.

Then if she goes apply for stripper at a different club, she will have to pay to get another BioVerify background check done since the club she was rejected at kept the results.

The clubs will only accept ORIGINAL copies of BioVerify results.
