Anyone else encounter this?

Is anybody else tired of the lack of customer service in businesses these days? It's not right at any time, but in this economical climate businesses should be bending over backwards to keep customers happy, but more and more it just seems as if they could care less. I was prompted to ask this after just coming back from an eating establishment where they refused to honor a coupon. So, instead of being out the coupon discount they lost out on the entire sale when I promptly went somewhere else. I don't own a business, but it seemed like they made a stupid move doing that.

I haven't noticed that. But in general attitudes have gotten worse across the board. I work in a more "blue collar" zip code, and not just at my business but when I am in neighboring businesses I see people acting like assholes in general.

I see people throwing their money on counters, grumbling, cursing out the clerks, etc....

Like I said this is a more blue collar zip code and maybe things are a little different in more affluent areas.

Yes! I have noticed this a lot lately. Restaurants, hotels, stores, everywhere... It is maddening!

I don't understand it at all, I would think as much as everyone bitches about the economy and unemployment, you'd be happy as shit to have a job and customers.

Actually had a manager tell one of our employees the other day that they didn't care anything about customer service they were only interested in how fast you got the job done.
