Final Fantasy vii

Today I noticed Final Fantasy VII on steam. I believe back in 1997-98 is when I played it when I borrowed it from a friend. I think I had 120hrs into it. I would like to play it again and possibly finish it lol. But the remake is coming out sometime soon. So my question is....I would really like to play it again with all the nostalgia in place with the midi sounds and what not. But it would also be cool to play it remastered for the first time again. What do you all think. Old vs. New.

Have ya'll seen the Resident Evil 2 remake? That is a thing of beauty! I hope with the FF7 remake, they plan to add more to the game than just the simple copy and paste of a the original game with better looking graphics. And if I might rant a little bit, no real spoilers to the folks who haven't played RE2, I wish they had made the cut scenes that involved Claire and Leon a little different. Yes, I know, you're supposed to play Claire first, technically, but in the game, during the play-through, you'd have the same cut scenes but with the roles reversed. It would have been nice, to say, play Claire and to see something one way and then to play Leon and see how he got to the point of interaction from Claire's point of view.

Yes, I NEARLY, had my escort name "Claire Redfield", almost. To add a little fun, here is a video some Youtube made for FF7, I enjoy the comedy side of it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pDqea9cWOn4 Watch all the way to the end. Oh man, this is going to be a beautiful game! Fingers crossed. Nothing like an old school game that is well made. But now with better graphics? Excited!

That was good....Yea I have been meaning to pick that up...I lost the Leon disc so I just played the Claire disc over and over. I remember back then that Claire's interactions and scenes were a lot different than Leon's. And you fight different bosses as well.
I think you'll have plenty of time to enjoy the original by the time the first chapter of the remake is available. There will be more information revealed about it in the next few weeks though.

So long as they stick with the original story line and game play, I'd be ok with playing the updated version, just to see it with new graphics.

Enjoyed the original. Spent many an hour on that thing. I'll probably wait for a price drop though before I pick up the remake.
