The Evil of Air Conditioning

In another forum people were singing the praises of air conditioning, and while I have been known to partake in the frosty coolness of processed air, I'm not sure the benefits outweigh the problems AC has caused.

Years ago, I remember reading that one of the reasons Washington DC was chosen as our nation's capital was that the weather was so horrible in the summertime that no one would want to remain there year round. Air conditioning made full-time government possible.
