I've got 8 more folks who sent me their email addresses since I posted this...so guess everyone wasn't on the abusive indys site where y'all tried to say how unsafe I was because I have...wait for it...hobby emails.

I don’t think you are unsafe because of hobby emails. I never understood what the big deal about that was anyway. Tons of providers collect them for newsletters. I do think you are unsafe for other reasons though.

I wouldn't say ECCIE is neutered. Just a different model - reviews and talk here, find your ads somewhere else. Which quite frankly could work well.

It is not like we had a ton of ads in Pittsburgh to begin with. Didn't stop guys from seeing who they wanted and posting reviews that others could then use as a guide. The reviews are what is valuable, not ads.

The only thing I may miss with no ads is not knowing if an interesting visitor will be coming.

By the way, USASexguide has a similar model. They do not have ads on their site. Just reviews and discussion. They do happen to run their own separate ad site, I assume offshore. But they are two different and distinct sites
