great science fiction movies

A lot to choose from. Some made before all the cgi are the best ones.
Bladerunner keeps moving up the list. If you are able to watch it using headphones turned up, it is even better. The soundtrack is a big part of that movie, and very well done.
I am starting to like the acting job more and more by the Mr. Tyrell character.

Alien may go down as one of the greatest sci-fi movies ever.

I’ve always been of fan of The Matrix series....
Absolutely love Blade Runner - one of my all-time favorites.

i like the old classics. the day the earth stood still, war of the worlds, forbidden planet, etc. cgi does add a whole new dimension though. a lot of good sci-fi out there.
VitaMan's Avatar
The first Tron movie was so relevant at the time, and broke new ground for visuals.
Still fresh if watched once a year.

I thought The Martian with Matt Damon was well done.

It followed the book very well which explained the science in great detail but made it understandable by less than MIT grads. Lots of real science explained in great detail made it believable.

No sex in science fiction movies.....please ! That was a main rule on Star Trek.

Only Kirk hinted at yeoman Janice Rand......would not have been good since he was commander and she was working under him.

Not even a sniff about Star Wars. The Empire Strikes Back is a classic. After that they got kind of boring.
