What area to stay in Omaha and Lincoln

Happy Holidays Omaha and Lincoln, I will be visiting both areas next week(Dec. 2nd-Dec. 7th) but not sure where to stay as far as location. Would downtown be a good area? Also, are there any drive-thru Christmas lights display in the area?

Great to see you're visiting our fair city next week Juillette! The best areas for good bars, restaurants and nice hotels are: the Old Market area downtown, Midtown Crossing and Arksarben Village. Hope you have a very nice and fun visit.

Areas to avoid - 108th and I-80 (about 108th and L); 72nd and Grover (72nd and I-80). These are motel clusters with low room rates and high LE presence.
