Musical instruments

How many people have taken up learning a new instrument to play while maybe being hunkered down during these times? I’m considering the guitar. Any ladies learning a trombone? 😂 All jokes aside I hope everyone is safe out there

Not bragging, mind you, but I am already a master of the "air guitar". I can perfectly imitate any rock legend you can think of! Can't sing for shit!

Brings back memories of Bryan Adam's "Summer of 69"..."I got my first real six-string; Bought it at the five-and-dime; Played it till my fingers bled; Was the summer of '69"

If you're serious Rocksmith is a fun way to get into it and makes a good practice tool. With Rocksmith they basically took the Guitar Hero/Rock Band like video game idea and combined that with guitar tablature and your real guitar. There are a ton of options on how fast the program can teach you. You can slow down the songs, repeat sections of the song on loops, add or take away the number of notes you need to play. For instance if you can't play the full Barre Chord you can have it just show you a power chord or even just the root note or only every 4th note. It will automatically add in notes or take them away based on how well you are doing or you can turn that feature off. You do need their special cable though which is $20 on Amazon right now. I know you can still buy it for computers but I'm not aware if you can still get it for the consoles or not.

I've taken lessons in the past and used online lessons as well but I have the most fun using Rocksmith. There is this Japanese girl who started around like 7 years old and has only used Rocksmith to learn and she's sort of like their poster child for how well it works, she has taught herself to play both right and left handed and even the bass with her feet at the same time.

I used Rocksmith when I was trying to learn the guitar. And it works for left handed guitars, which is a great benefit. Had to give it up when the nerve disease went into the right arm and hand and I couldn’t fret anymore.
