Steam kills virus

Not specifically but the virus RNA is surrounded by a lipid (fat) layer and one if the reasons your supposed to wash with hot water is to melt that layer. So I guess steam killing the virus makes sense.

Alcohol kills it.
Needs to be at least 60% though, that's 120 proof. 70% & higher preferred.
A lot of alcohol hand sanitizes, or wipes, are way less than this though.

ahayw is correct, gotta get through the membrane layer and covid has a more resistant "skin" then other things do.

A UV Light source will also!

Chinese done picked up on that. Ads everywhere for hand held models. And I remember a story a few days ago how hospitals are sterilizing used masks with UV light.

Ok, I forgot, so adding:
My chili is hot enough to kill anything and even humans have a tough time with it. Alcohol will cool it down though.

"One study found the virus hates being cooked. In a lab, it was all dead after five minutes of heating at around 160 F..." so oven temperature. Though I'm not sure that's totally helpful...

COVID-19 has been shown to survive at 65 C (150 F) for 20 min. The use of dry heat at 70 C (160 F) for 30 min will kill this specific virus. Alcohol, UV light for 30 min as well as aerosolized hydrogen peroxide for 20 min will take care of it.

Another important thing I have found helps is don't lay down flat. Elevate yourself when sleeping. This keeps stuff from going down the windpipe.

Thanks everyone. I have come to the conclusion this is like any other epidemic pandemic or whatever you want to call it doesn't matter what we do we can cut down the risk but we're not cutting it out ever

COVID-19 can be killed but the temperature is high (56C=132.8F) You wouldn't want to be in a hot tub that hot.
