My take away for the long term is:
File your taxes, and pay your Social Security.
If you claim net income of less than $ 10,000 per year, your Earned Income Tax credit you receive will offset the social security taxes you have to pay.
This process will also boost your credit score, and provide earnings history for mainstream jobs and housing.
