I had an idea that I think I’m going to use for my encounter reports going forward. I often struggle with whether to give a yes or a no recommendation. I know I’m not the only one — hence the “Pittsburgh yes” idea. It will have to be in the ROS since there’s nowhere else to put it, but my idea is to assign a letter grade to the encounter, much like our familiar grading system in school. I think this would capture the variations in encounters better than the yes/no recommendation does.
It would obviously be subjective, but personally an A encounter would be one that blows me away; I might be in danger of going broke over that provider. Great looking, good performance, no extracurricular issues, etc. B would be a typical “good” encounter, but not perfect. C would be more a “Pittsburgh yes”-type encounter, multiple issues or unattractive but got the job done. D would be serious issues, poor performance, etc. a no recommendation. I’d reserve F for serious safety concerns, obvious, blatant extracurriculars or a scam of some sort.
Mods, please let me know if this somehow violates site rules; I have no intention to cause problems or trouble. I hope others share opinions on this and maybe it’s something that will catch on and help us all (assuming it isn’t a rule violation of course)
