Dinner Date/Need Restaurant Recommendations

I am going to dinner in KC Aug 14th and since I am not from there or nor is my date, we have no clue where to go.
So thought I would get your help! Please!
I am a meat and potatoes kind of chic and love pasta. So what would be the top 3 restaurants you would recommend? It can be anywhere in the KC area. And go from anything fancy to a hole in the wall.
I greatly appreciate your time and help!

Corner cafe liberty. Stroud's.(if it's still open)
Hereford House several locations. 801 Chophouse just reopened if your date doesn't mind the extra coin. J Gilberts dining room is open. All good places to get a good steak. Brio on the plaza and the legends area for pasta....

A second on Q39, they also have one at 87th and Antioch in OP. Great Q
The Brass Onion at Prairie Fire, 135th and Nall. Fridays and Saturdays are prime rib specials...OUTSTANDING...devil ed eggs to die for, low country food, great salads, salmon forno...fried chicken, I could go on and on...a hidden secret in Kansas City...and reasonable. Near the former Cinetopia, now an AMC...

BBQ - Q39 and then Joe's Kansas City, hands down in that order, the best in KC.
Ok so I just got home from the gym and my stomach is already growling then started reading ya'll's responses NOW I am extra hungry! lol lol

Well for pasta, Lydia's in the Freighthouse district by Union Station is nice. It is centrally located between downtown and the Plaza. Next door they have an Austrian restaurant, Grunauer. If you want a european twist. If you are way up at the airport, maybe a trip to Weston to the American Bowman restaurant. Very casual and nothing fancy. The sister pub O'Malley's, is 3 stories underground beneath it in some 1842 cellars.

Gordon Ramsey at Harrah's was pretty good. Nice to be able to eat and then go up to room after and eat again. lol
Grunauer is one of the best restaurants in KC. Of course there is Piropos. A Texan shouldn't miss KC BBQ because none of all y'all know how to BBQ in Texas. Also, is is precious difficult to find a decent fried chicken liver in Texas. So you must visit the Go Chicken Go before you go. After some cogitation I may have further recommendations.
