Cinema 3 and Phoenix Book Store
Just curious if anyone out there remembers these 2 iconic places in Des Moines? I have very fond memories of both.
Let's throw in the 1536 Theater on the north side of East Grand.
anyone remember the massage place on keo way. Just off the 235 exit. Can't remember what it was called. Went there a few times in the late 90's. One time, me and the girl started off in the massage room but I guess she was pissed off at the other girls and she wanted to have sex in the hallway. I thought why the hell not. We screwed like bunnies in the hallway where some of the girls would pop into the hall to see what was going on. It was hilarious. At the time, I wasn't thinking about other clients coming in.
never go the chance to go to cinema 3. Heard it was good. rumor was that swingers would frequent the place.
I dont remember the 1536 but i do remember the one on Keo. Was to ToNeKa or something like that? Then there was the place a couple blocks north east of Mercy hospital, it wasnt there very long. We cant forget about the Water Palace out off of George Flagg Parkway.
I loved the Phoenix book store
ahhh...the water palace. kind of a hit and miss for me. many a memory of standing in front of the pictures and trying to decide on which girl.
Went to 1536 many times. Had a good take out from Cinema 3 that I saw for about a year. Had set a date for one evening and as I drove up I saw two guys loading up her stuff into a pickup so I just keep on driving. Heard she went to Mexico.
Ahh...DSM back in the day! Toneca had some hunnies (and some dogs) over the years. Toneca moved around, from Keo originally to 2nd ave north of town, to east Euclid at the end. Used to be a really cute big chested girl that used to be a lot of fun in the hot tub who worked there in the late 80s and early 90s. I think she quit when she had some health issues. The old Modern Massage on the south side was fun. Kelly's was one of the names of that place at 1310 Keo. There was a dancer who worked at the Runway on Army Post and also at Cinema 3 who was a very cute light black girl with big tits and stood about 4'10" who was alot of fun outside of work.S
DSM used to be quite the place back in the day!
Spent a lot of time in the Cinema 3 when I was in high school. One of my jobs was nearby. I paid to play for the first time at ToNeCa, in 1975. I was in high school and the girl turned out to be a young married woman that had been a checker at a grocery store I worked at. Always wanted to fuck her, and some of the other boys said they hit it. We did everything and all BB. Went back a month later and she was gone.
I have some great stories about 1536 in the 80's. I had a connection with the management that offered some awesome privileges. As example, getting a BBBJ and BBFS from a touring porn starlet in the office, then taking her out to a dance club to party and she bailed on me in minutes for handsome men with more game and bigger dicks.
1536 was fun. Took a female friend while I was in college and got our picture taken in the office with a topless Seka with each of us grabbing her tits and her grabbing my cock and my friend's pussy OTC. Fun time!
At Cinema 3, once in a while different guys would bring their women and they liked to watch other guys play with the women. I did FIV many times and got a BBBJ once.
My very first P4P was take of a little black girl from Cinema 3. Opened up a whole new world for me and I never looked back!
That’s a great story cb. I always wondered what went on at the cinema on east grand but never stopped. Good thread guys, thanks for sharing.
Pretty funny "old guy" reminiscing. Makes me think of drinking around the San Francisco North Beach area where the barkers tried to get you to come into their "He and She Love Act" clubs. The guy in front of the Condor Club was handing out picture postcards of (the original) topless Carol Doda with the inscription, "Every Body Needs Milk." Shit, don't get me started on Tempest Storm at the O'Farrell Theatre. Sorry, didn't mean to digress.
