smoked sausage at Shell gas station

I stopped for gas, went inside. Something I rarely do, I bought a smoked sausage from their grill. They had all the condiments. It was fantastic. It was 99 cents. I paid the fair price for their gas.

If I go to a sporting event, I pay the unfair price for the ticket to watch the game. If I want a hot dog or smoked sausage, I am going to have to pay $ 4 or more.

It's time to boycott professional sports......at least until they charge fair prices for the food.

And we should have stopped giving them taxpayers money a long, long time ago.

The sausage wrapped in a tortilla (German+Mexican, all Texas, LOL) from the Buckees in Giddings is pretty good as well. Just not that cheap.

I like college basketball better than the nba. Generally speaking, everyone gives 110 percent in college ball all of the time. Not so much in the nba after they get paid

The same thing applies to food. If you go to a fancy restaurant, the food isnt any better than the mom and pop shops, you just pay more to be there.

cool post VM. what you saw goes against conventional wisdom. for "franchisees'", profit margins on gas are awful, like 1 cents a gallon. they make their money by the other stuff, like selling drinks or snacks.selling sausage so cheap goes against the grain. how do you make money selling sausage at cost? you dont. so what gives? i have a theory..

Asterisk.....only available during happy hour...so maybe a loss during that time, but get you coming back again, and at different times.

I went back again.....sold out......went back a second time......sold out.
I get the Nathans jalapeno/cheese hotdogs at Raceway or Racetrack gas stations. Bad assed hot dog. More of a sausage than hot dog. Not a fan of their gas,but the bathrooms are clean and the food/drinks are good and cheap.

Gas station prices are always inflated.
$2.99 for a breakfast taco when I can get one at a meat market for $.99
BBQ (smoked sausage) is alot higher.
Average price at a sporting event I attend is $9 for a domestic beer & at least $5 for a hotdog. $8-9 for a smoked sausage on a stick.
