Congress to Trump: ENOUGH already!

Well the Senate blew Trump’s veto of the defense bill out of the water. It took four years to grow a set, but I believe that overriding the veto enabled some of the Trump sullied Congressional Republicans to display a bit of loyalty to the people the who elected them.

Remember, this was all about Trump demagoguing irrelevant issues to make political hay. Because he was pissed at Twitter for making him tell the truth. Or still gives a fuck about the Confederacy.

Is there any further debate? If not, the question is. Shall the bill pass the objections of the President of the United States to the contrary notwithstanding? Yeas and nays are required and the clerk will call the roll. Are there any senators in the chamber wishing to vote or change their votes? Seeing none on this vote? The yeas are 81, the nays are 13. 2/3 of the senators voting quorum being present. Having voted in the affirmative, the bill on reconsideration has passed the objections of the President of the United States to the contrary notwithstanding.

WASHINGTON — The Senate on Friday voted overwhelmingly to override President Trump’s veto of the annual military policy bill as most Republicans joined Democrats to rebuke Mr. Trump in the final days of his presidency.

The 81-to-13 vote was the first time lawmakers have overridden one of Mr. Trump’s vetoes. It reflected the sweeping popularity of a measure that authorized a pay raise for the nation’s military.
