you can't block him but you can put him on ignore.

heres how you do it.

go to his profile page
look for user list on the menu
Send Message User Lists
click on the user lists button. it lists 2 items on the menu.
add contacts
add to ignore list
click on the ignore list

viola!!! ignored!!!.
