the English

Since the royal family has been in the news, it is time to take stock of the good and bad of the English, and what they have contributed.

tremendous language, useful for communication, poetry, songs, and bards
colonial empire, which was on such a vast scale that was something that could only be dreamt about by others attempting it, such as the Germans of WWII
small sport cars
a well organized society with a queen, almost as well organized as a bee colony with their queen bee
oddly enough, may have been the straw that kept the Germans from conquering the world, a complete reversal of colonization efforts

Is the world a better place because of the English ?

Yes......yes it is

And the US kept the Germans from conquering the world with help from Great Britain and the other allies.
I wouldn't call feudalism a "well designed society". It's literally "might makes right".

However, some of the lackadaisical attitudes held by some members of the aristocracy lead to the rise of the merchant class into power.

Allowing people to become independently wealthy and accumulate power upset their stagnating system quite a bit.

English.. they're a mixed bag. they did alot of good things but at the same measure, they did alot of bad stuff.

their achievement of a global colonial empire was something else. a unique superpower.

apparently, their superpower was done in unintentionally by free trade. I should note Britain needed help from U.S. 2 times. As a superpower that they were supposedly, they couldn't defeat germany in a land war.
Great Britain’s mastery of the seas was a huge contribution to their success as a world power.

Need to take the colonize the world concept and apply that to the stars.
