Modified exhausts illegal in NY state

Do they not realize almost every motorcycle on the street won't pass inspection now. Fuckin NY state sucks in so many ways

nor many old cars.

Inspections alone in this state make me want to leave.

Just when I was contemplating a dual exhaust system being installed on my 79 Buick. I’ll live with it as is.

You can get a car inspected with every brake warning light on but god forbid one of your cylinders are misfiring.

I dated a guy briefly who fixed old cars with his dad. He'd come home smelling like motor oil and, ugh, it just DOES something for me.

I think a huge part of the attraction is I know *nothing* about cars or bikes. They're pretty but I'm so dumb when it comes to stuff like that. I look at them with child-like wonder lol

So, I'm wondering if my Gibson Dual Extreme Catback exhaust will be considered "illegal," it has the same loudness as the stock exhaust (maybe a hair louder.) If you don't draw attention to yourself, you shouldn't have any worries, just like the tinted window law. This appears to be another money grab from the NYS Ivory Towers.

A throaty muscle car exhaust sounds great. A stupid import 50hp car with a big dumb ass wing on the back with a fart can muffler sounds horrible. A Harley with nice pipes sounds bad, but a Harley with the pipes just about hacksawed off at the motor that is popping and back firing sounds like shit. You don't have to have a rude exhaust.
